Curiosities and Original Content is a blog about a variety of topics including finance and investing, fiction and short stories, boardgames and strategy, and science. The founder is an independent writer. He writes about the things he likes to read about and the things he likes to do. The Curiosities and Original Content blog welcomes guest posts from other writers, so if you have something you'd like to share with our readers please get in touch via email: email@example.com or by using the contact form on this page. Please note that we only accept guest posts that are original, high quality content relevant to our readership – please don't submit press releases or anything else that is not your own writing/work (we reserve the right to decline any submissions). We also welcome suggestions for topics you would like us to cover – again please get in touch via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or by using the contact form on this page if there's anything you'd like us to write about, either as a new post or as part of one of our existing series'. If there's something you'd like us to cover then it's likely other readers would too! Our aim is always for high quality content so if we choose your suggestion we'll let you know within two weeks of receiving it whether we're going ahead with it or not (if not then hopefully we'll be able to suggest another topic). We will credit all contributions appropriately and provide links back where appropriate too (but obviously don't expect payment!). We hope this provides an opportunity for anyone who wants their voice heard through our platform!
D. F. Rankle
D.F. Rankle studied English at Harvard College and wrote a novel as his creative thesis under the advice of Jamaica Kincaid. He's interested in fiction writing, boardgames, and other curiosities.
Oliver Kent is the in-house Male Lifestyle and Fashion writer for Curiosities and Original Content. He is also a freelance journalist and works with lifestyle brands, mostly in the men's apparel sector. Oliver was born in London to French parents, but considers himself more English than anything else (apart from a love of cheese). When not writing he enjoys cycling through the countryside with nothing but bread and wine to sustain him; listening to music while cooking up a storm; or just generally hanging out with friends over good food and drink. His interest in menswear began when he stumbled upon a copy of Mod: The 1960s Style Revolution by David Cavanagh whilst studying at university. Reading this book opened Oliver's eyes to the possibilities that existed outside of what he was being told were "smart" or "fashionable" clothes at school or university (a lot of Burberry check shirts).
Jay Chanler is the in-house finance writer for Curiosities and Original Content. He worked as an analyst on Wall Street for several years before deciding to move to the West Coast. He is currently a PhD student in Organizational Psychology at Stanford University, where he studies how people make career choices and how organizations can better support those choices. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, running, and spending time with his wife and two daughters in Palo Alto, California.
Stanislav Petrov is the in-house digital artist for Curiosities and Original Content. He is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles with a BA in English Literature and an MA in Curatorial Media. His interests lie in subcultures, youth movements, digital art and fashion. He has a keen interest in sneakers and the sneaker community, which he hopes to explore further through this column. Stanislav is also a member of The Boardroom, an organization that supports young artists and writers. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife, who is also an artist.
